1) Cheating on your partner. Absolutely inexcusable, and both guys and girls do it. I can't even tell you how many times my friends' and family's hearts have been utterly ripped from their chests because the people they love cheated on them. Being unfaithful shatters trust and causes the person being cheated on to doubt his or herself. If you love your partner, you love him or her enough not to cheat. If you can't control your sex drive enough to stay faithful to the love of your life, then you're nothing more than a subhuman animal and you deserve to be alone.

2) Being too controlling. Sure it's funny on TV when a professional comedian plays a hapless, good-natured guy with an evil witch of a wife who calls him every fifteen minutes to demand to know where he is...but in the real world that's not funny, it's exhausting. Don't think I'm just talking about women being too demanding either...guys do it too, and it's not a joke, it's not cute, and it's not justified. It's emotional abuse is what it is, and a lack of trust that's going to end up with you being quite lonely.

3) Lack of regard for your partner's feelings, or emotional support. I know, it's such a cliched expression that I feel silly just using it, but not giving your partner the emotional support he or she needs is a painful and self-esteem damaging thing. When the one you love has a difficult time seeing how much you DO love him or her, it hurts! Most of this can be helped just by listening to your partner...really listening, and responding like a human person rather than a parrot. A little support from the one who loves you isn't too much to ask, so don't be stingy in giving it.

4) Letting fights get out of their role. Whenever two people are stuck together for extended periods of time, even if those people love each other desperately and passionately, there are going to be clashes where one person feels one way and the other a different way...that's life, that's relationships. It can even be healthy to clear the air sometimes, but when you let a fight expand outside the boundary of being helpful, it starts really harming your relationship. Don't just shrug off your partner's concerns, but don't take fights too seriously either. Oh, and a tip for making fights a little less impactful: give in every now and again. ;)

5) Boredom and lack of spontanaeity. I feel physical pain every time I hear about a happy couple breaking up because the relationship became stale and boring. There is so very little reason why your time with the one you love should end up becoming more of a day-to-day routine than a constant joy. Do what's needed to make things stay interesting and fun! You're two great people in love, why shouldn't every day together be a blessing? Letting a relationship reach its expiration date should be a crime, because it's just such a tragic waste...

I'm Not Comfortable

Have they stated why they don't want to meet you in Galveson? Maybe it is a trust issue or maybe they are just scared to take the relationship from the online world to the real world for some other reason that you may not understand.

What we have to realize is that some people are such introverts that they just don't want to have contact with the "outside" world. They want their online friends and they are happy with that. Some people do not like to be around other people; therefore, online relationships are great for having a social life without having to be around others.

Could be that they are really just looking for a friendship instead of a relationship. If they meet you "in reality" then that will take the friendship into a new dimension, which they are scared of.

Should you talk them into it? No... would not work in the long run. The possibility of getting them out of their shell is about nil.

Where Should I Take Her On A Date?

First of all, if you have been talking online for a while then you should know her likes and dislikes. What foods does she like? What activities does she like? What is some of her favorite drinks?

1. Small restaurant. This does NOT inlcude McDonalds, Wendy's, or Burger King! Find some nice little pub downtown or small sandwich shop for a casual meeting.

2. Coffee shop on the corner. Nothing like a little Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts to get a relationship going!

3. Pick someplace with a view! What about a nice little shop near the mountains or the beach? What about a view near a lake?

4. What about sports? How about bowling or golf would sound great to me.

6. Sports Bar. Pick somewhere that the main focus isn't just seeing how much you can drink. Pick a place with great food!

When They Ask For Sex

Although there are a lot of people out there just looking for "unattached" sexucal encounters online, true romance online doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a sexual encounter of any kind.

If the other person starts talking about getting together and you are not ready, then just tell them! I thought that online romancers where smarter than this? But, to my suprise, a lot people don't tell the other person that this makes them uncomfortable.

After telling the other person that you are not ready to get into the sexual aspects of your relationship, do they stop or pressure you on? If they really care about YOU as I person, I believe that the person will stop asking those questions. And if they don't, this is a definite sign that this "wonderful person" online may actually be a predator.

Okay, so you've been chatting with someone for a few weeks, and really feel comfortable with this person... What is your gut or heart saying about this?

Remember to meet in a public place like a restaurant.
Be careful of how much alcohol you drink on a first date, you don't need to be impaired with someone you just met.
Always have a planned way out.
Let someone else know where you are going.

MeMe or No MeMe!

Someone came up with the crazy idea of MeMe. I think that this is a great way to get to know other people and a way to get some great marketing done!!! The rules are very simple, you get tagged, you write six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself, then you tag at least six others!

Here are the things that you might not know about me, and I hope that they bring back your own memories of the Days Of Old...

1. In grade school I started out my musical career playing the flute, then we didn't have a drummer, so I did the bass drum for a year, the snare drum for a year, then the Tim-Toms for a year. After that, we were short in the brass section, so I learned the Trombone by marking my music with my slide positions. I spent four years playing in a pep band, concert band, and my favorite, the Jazz Band!!!

2. My paternal grandmother passed away when I was 6 years old, but before she died she taught me how to crochet and knit. Since then I have not only crocheted several afghans, but I have knitted several sweaters and even golf
club covers!

3. I learned to quilt on my own. To date, I have made about five of them including two memory quilts for my mother (one of with my brothers pictures and one with my pictures)... a log cabin quilt, a Noah's ark quilt, a Jacob' Ladder quilt, and I'm currently working on a Christmas quilt. I machine piece and hand quilt them, so it does take me a while!

4. I started my first job, as a waitress, the day after I graduated from high school... my other jobs in college included library assistance for 1.5 years, chemistry lab assistant for a semester, Radio Station "on air personality" for 5 years with 1 year as the Program Director and 2 years as Station Manager.

5. In high school I was a loner and didn't have a best friend until my Junior year of high school. I might as well have been voted "least likely to succeed." And now??? My high school best friend and I just celebrated our 40th birthdays in Cancun, the others in my class don't hardly talk to each other. While my classmates are great teachers and accountants, the one least likely to succeed travels the United States as a traveling nurse, has been Number One in Nursing, Trends, & Issues on Amazon, Published in several national magazines, and has a link on drphil.com. As my fellow Okie, Toby Keith, says... "How Do You Like Me Now???"

6. And talking about High School.... I had this long distance relationship with the guy I met at Church Camp. We went to church camp every year and had plans to get married after I graduated from high school. He graduated from high school first, traveled 200 miles to tell me that he was leaving for the Army, but he would be back to get me in a year. That was the last that I talked to him... until TWENTY-TWO YEARS LATER!! Yeppers, thanks to Reunion.com I found my high school sweetheart. Of course, we were both married, just not to each other. Now THAT is a crazy romance!!!

What You Should Think About When Considering Online Dating

The best answer to the question, "should you consider an online romance?" is probably, "why not?" There are precautions and safety measures you need to take when you consider an Internet romance, but in many ways it's safer, more comfortable, more anonymous, and perhaps more successful in the long run, than any other way of starting a romance.

Many turn to online dating after tiring of the bar scene or at the end of a long term relationship. The first group might well think that there are nothing but losers or those interested in only one night stands out there looking for a woman or man. The latter might feel like it's been so many years since they dated that they simply don't know how to flirt or look for a mate.

There may even be those that, while they might welcome the bar scene, can't tolerate the smoke. It may be that all these folks should consider an internet romance.

Internet dating has been around for about a decade now, and there were those that, when they wondered, "Should I consider an online romance?" decided not to because of embarrassment. They thought that Internet dating was for losers and those who couldn't find a mate on their own. Internet dating simply wasn't accepted in many circles.

That is no longer the case, however. A national U.S. television broadcast company completed a recent study about Internet dating. They found that of those Americans that had Internet access (and most do) 15 percent had visited at least one Internet dating Web site. Surprisingly, 73 percent of these were 30 years old and over. Even one third of those who hadn't taken part in online dating said that they felt it was safe, although about the same number admitted they knew someone who'd realized a negative online dating experience.

Internet dating has clearly become accepted. The taboos are off. The question of "should you consider an Internet romance?" is no longer about any stigma involved.

British television got into the online dating reporting game as well, pointing out that women should consider online because it left them more control and more power in the early relationship, with the safety of Internet anonymity. Some professionals point out that internet dating enhances shy peoples' chances of finding their soul mate. Those who wouldn't go up to a new woman or man in a bar or other social situation can do so comfortably on the Web.

Of course, the drawback is there is no initial way to know if that person on the online dating site is being truthful. They could be married, incarcerated, abusive, and so forth. Their picture might not be their picture. When you consider if you should try an online romance you must know that you have to probe and get to the truth with phone calls, non-threatening initial public meetings, and, if necessary, private investigation.
The answer to "Should you consider an online romance?" is, then, "only if you're going to be wise, watchful, skeptical and willing to verify".

In our days, dating frauds are becoming more common. That's why it is better to know from the beginning how to protect yourself from fraud when using Internet personals and dating agencies. Many people try online dating in order to find a partner, but many of them don't know that online dating has also risks, such as dating scams.

It is considering scam, for example, when a lonely foreign man gets acquired over the Internet with an attractive woman, which will try to get as much money out of the unsuspecting foreigner as possible. Online dating scammers are heartless; they are happy to exploit people's emotions for their own gain. If you get too deeply involved, a dating scam can heart not only your hurt, but your finances too. So, don't be too sincere with the one you are chatting, remember that Internet personals, dating sites allow anyone to join free so you never know who is behind that pretty photo.

The online scams come in many forms and shapes, but the nastiest form is romance scams, when those persons approach you on a dating service. They play with their victim's feelings, send them lovely messages, call them on the phone, and after they built some degree of trust, here come the nasty scam part. They may have many faces: not only they frequently changes names, but they may list themselves by being of different gender, race, age, location.

The major weapon of the romance scammers is photos. If the photos are more attractive, the chances that this could be a scam are bigger. They may get the photos from a modeling site and also photos of innocent people and start using them.

How do they act? First, they approach the victim, by using some attractive photos that are usually uploaded from the Internet. Second, they are ''grooming'' the victim; they establish some lovely correspondence with you, talking about unconditional trust and her honesty. Also, the letters become long, flowery and romantic, and even call the guy '' my love’’, '' my prince'' and so on. She pretends to fall in love with you and talk about her dreams of your first meeting.

The next step is to asking for money; after they will come to present you a sad situation, in which they are passing now, will be asking for your help. Such as: they would really like to meet you but do not have enough money or those they have been robbed and beaten and require urgent surgery or treatment for a serious illness. Even if you get in the trap, they will not stop here, and trying to milking the victim for money as much as possible, using different lies as reasons. And finally, take place the disappearing act; start getting out little by little, sending only few messages and then disappearing at all.

So, to not pass in such a nasty situation here are some things that you should pay attention:

when you view a profile look out for things like a sleazy user name; a normal and sincere woman will not use a sleazy user name
read what the profiles says, because people milking for others money will say something vague that can fit anyone
